Created to celebrate 10 years of Monsoon.
Monsoon members are Gregory Bry (The Thons, Nude Intruder, Masochistic Values) on Drums and Revson Gourley-Rice (Warpt Bastard, Joke Century, Smut) on Theremin, Pedals, Drum Machine, and Vocals. Revson and Greg met at Columbia College in 2007 and began recording improvised music in 2008. After having released more than a handful of digital records and eps over a span of about 5 years, and playing countless DIY spots and bars in the Chicago area, Monsoon took a hiatus in 2013 after releasing a full length record entitled “TUFF SEESUNS”. In 2017 they reunited under the name “Pharmavoid” with guitarist Conar Gillard (Nude Intruder, Gills), to play only two shows of written material. In 2018, realizing it had been 10 years since starting the Monsoon project, Rev and Greg decided to record an album to celebrate the decade spent making music together in one form or another. In August of 2018 Monsoon recorded their newest record, “Now Became Never”, in a single day session with Tim Foley (Aurora L'Orealis, tffx) in his Chicago-based studio. “Now Became Never” is the first physical release by Monsoon ever. Self-released, only 50 cassettes made.
